A few countries are eligible for the Working Holiday Visa. Indeed, Australia has reciprocal Working Holiday maker arrangements in effect with the United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Republic of Ireland, Republic of Korea, Malta, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People's Republic of China, Finland, the Republic of Cyprus, France, and Italy, Belgium, Estonia and Taiwan.

The Working Holiday Visa allows you to travel and work for one year in Australia. The advantage is that you can work to cover your main daily expenses, to save to travel around and the visa application is easy and fast. The visa costs AU$365.

We have summarized below the most important conditions:

• Valid for one year from arrival in Australia;
• You can only apply for this visa OUTSIDE of Australia;
• You must be between 18 and 30 years old;
• You can study a course of maximum 4 months (16 weeks);
• You can work full time for one year but not more than 6 months for the same employer;
• When your visa expires, you may renew your Working Holiday Visa for another year or extend your stay on different Australian visas.

OUR ADVICE

Even if you are a native English speaker, it is not that easy to find a job in your career since Australia does not recognize many qualifications from other countries, even the UK, Canada and the USA. We, therefore, advise you to enrol in one of our Starter Packs which will allow you to obtain an Australian recognized qualification.

To find a job easily in restaurants, cafés, clubs etc, it is recommended that you do the RSA Certificate (responsible service alcohol) course, a compulsory qualification to work in hospitality in Australia. You should note that being on a Working Holiday Visa will not allow you to find a job of much importance: most of the job vacancies are in the hospitaliy industry, fruit picking, labour etc., since you have to change employers every 6 months.
